Acquired or Existing Problems Which May Place the Walker at Risk

There are a number of disorders which may place an individual at risk for injury and/or may limit an individual’s ability to walk comfortably or limit their ability to progress in a walking program. Many of these conditions can be resolved or controlled managed with proper healthcare. Some of the more common conditions include which may place the walker at risk include;

1. Foot Pronation 
   Peripheral Arterial Disease  
Leg Length Inequality
2. Heel Pain
   Heart Disease     
Sciatic Pain
3. Knee Pain
   Heart Arrhythmia       
Leg muscle weakness
4. Back Pain
   Hypertension 
Hip Pain 
5. Obesity   
   Poorly Controlled Diabetes
